Commitment issues

Rainy days call for trips to the cinema.

But uh, going to the movies is a pretty serious commitment.

It’s 2.5 hours you’ll never get back so you better make the right selection. I just spent a good half hour discussing at length which matinee to see.

If you’re like me, you hate wasting time and energy on awful movies or boring sitcom reruns. I don’t like consuming mindless movies or television shows. I want to be engaged and entertained. I want to leave the theater feeling invigorated, moved to tears by either emotion or laughter.

Is that too much to ask?

The thing is, there’s so many options out there these days. I can’t help but think the perfect movie/TV show/documentary is out there just waiting for me to watch.

But I often find myself spending a ridiculous amount of time googling, watching trailers, and seeking the advice of others…

Going to the movies is kinda like dating.

But instead of wasting just a couple hours of your day, if you pick the wrong partner you could end up throwing away 50 years of your life.

Am I being a little dramatic?

We’re going to see Bridge of Spies. I’ll commit to Tom Hanks.
