It’s fall, my friends. A time to embrace change. A time to carefully select a season-appropriate nail polish color.
This is what trying on nail polish at Ulta looks like.
But sometimes indecision is a decision, do you know what I mean?
I didn’t pick any of the colors on this hand. Because none of them stood out to me. Sometimes being selective is a good thing.
Anyone with any knowledge of my hands knows my nail polish is often chipped. I’m a hands-on gal, I guess.
I was recently my friend’s maid of honor. She had a beautiful wedding in the Bahamas last month. I was charged with zipping up her dress. My anxiety rose as the photographer focused in on my hands:
Sorry about that. I guess some things will never change.
You know who’s not sorry? House Speaker John Boehner. He’s like, “See ya, have fun dealing with a possible government shutdown and the Iran nuclear deal!”
He’s embracing the change that often comes with fall, though. He sure is. Also – did I just transition from talking about nail polish to talking about Congress? Sure did.
If times they are a changin’ I wonder what type of lyrics Bob Dylan would sing-mumble about now?
I imagine they’d go something like this:
Come tweet now people
Wherever’s your phone
And admit that Planned Parenthood
Is being surveillanced by drones
And accept that soon
Your kids will eventually bone
If a fetus to you
Is worth savin’
Then you better start talkin bout birth control
Or you’ll be a grandma and you aren’t even that old
Because times they are a changin’
